The southwestern claims cannot possibly be correct. This map shows the Ukrainians claiming northern Moldavia proper, which was not (and had never been) Russian but was (and still is) Romanian. Meanwhile, its border in southern Bessarabia is identical to the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, which would not be drawn until 1940 and is ludicrously impractical.
