is this a juvenile?
[edit]This is a great photo of a fairy-wren! I've done some work on superb fairy-wrens and I believe this is a juvenile due to two things:
- yellow (and "fleshy"-looking) area on the basal part of the bill - a remnant of the wide yellow gape of nestlings
- the thickness of the legs - most juveniles have thicker tarsi (and often lighter) than adults, until the scales dry out

Purple fringing
[edit]This is an excellent picture, but there is just a TAD of purple fringing by the end of the tail and just above the beak. I suggest you desaturated the purple in that color range to remove the fringing. Althepal 04:53, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
