Are these images the wrong way around?
[edit]These images produce a reverse 3-D image and need to be on opposite sides of eachother, so the mountains raise above the lake, and not sink below it.
- Looks fine to me. I think you have to cross your eyes the other way. 96.30.150.26 (talk) 18:33, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Nothing is wrong with the image, in fact it is quite good. First stereogram I've seen that shows relief. If it appears wrong to you then it's probably something wrong with the technique you're looking at it with. --Hamster X 08:35, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I agree that the images are the wrong way round producing inverse relief. It's possible to cross your eyes the other way (cross-eyed) but this is much more difficult because the eyes are less parallel than the normal 'wall-eyed' method. The standard method for stereograms is wall-eyed viewing. I could only view it correctly by switches the images around. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.154.24.242 (talk) 13:30, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- hm, interesting. I've personally never been able to do the wall eyed method. For years I thought I was viewing magic eyes correctly, until I realised I was viewing them inverted. Cross eyed is far simpler. --129.11.12.201 (talk) 10:52, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
I agree that the images should be switched. The normal "magic eye" method assumes wall-eyed viewing.170.63.96.108 (talk) 18:43, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Just adding my vote that the depth seems to be inverted, and that I believe the images should be reversed. --69.159.28.150 (talk) 01:02, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Seperate topic - there appears to be a spelling mistake in the jpg? Can anyone fix this? Bertcocaine (talk) 18:42, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Nothing wrong with the image, I can see both images, in positive lake at the bottom, and in negative lake on top. one making vision blur, and the other crossing eyes —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.26.51.117 (talk) 16:30, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
The image says to "cross" one's eyes; that means convergent viewing. So the image is not at all incorrect. Of course a case could be made for having a divergent-viewing version as well (though the one we've got, Peninsula_correct.png, ought not declare itself to be the "correct" one). Anyway, as this image is on Commons, I've opened up this discussion on the talk page there. (As for the spelling mistake: what spelling mistake?) -- Perey (talk) 15:22, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
