Not only the colours presented in the map do not correspond to the ones shown in the legend, but the border given are wrong. Here a similar map from BBC: http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/48951000/gif/_48951920_south_china-sea_1_466.gif Can anyone fix the issues? Unfortunately I don't know how to get about to solve the problem myself. --Dia^ (talk) 11:32, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
I've already wrote on the talkpage on Commons, but maybe here gets more attention. The image is totally wrong. The colours in the legend particularly, but even the border given seem not correct. Here the one given by BBC: http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/48951000/gif/_48951920_south_china-sea_1_466.gif --Dia^ (talk) 11:38, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- I totally agree with you, Dia^. This image is ridiculously wrong, and this encyclopedia needs to have some quick decision on the fate of this misleading image. Base on which sources did this image draw Philippines, Vietnam & Malaysia's "maritime claim"(s)? Also, what's "maritime claim"? Completely vague. Exclusive Economic Zone or 350-mile from the countries' baseline? Just do a quick search on Philippines' baseline law (2009) and you can see that the blue line can't be more wrong. Futhermore, base on which Vietnamese government's document did the author of this image draw the yellow line? I'm not sure, but Vietnam's wrong line may come from a research of some guys from Middlebury College like this. I say delete this image. Autumnyear (talk) 10:35, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've tagged the image as inaccurate/misleading. It needs to be superseded/deprecated for an accurate map. - M0rphzone (talk) 06:24, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
