This image is not a correct representation of any Fokker Dr.1 that von Richthofen ever flew. The squadron markings for Jasta 11, Manfred's squadron, were a red cowl and wheel covers. While not all of his aircraft were all red, most had a red cowl and wheel covers and none had white. Additionally 425/17, the Dr.1 replicated here, never had white fields behind it's iron cross national markings. Only earlier Dr.1s had this white field. At the time of Manfred's death the iron crosses had been modified into the balken or "beam" straight cross. The only white on the aircraft was outlining the balken crosses and the tail rudder. The rest of the aircraft was solid blood red.
