It's a nice start, but there still are many anomalies which should be fixed. First, I can't superpose perfectly the original image with the vector, no matter the rotation or the size: things seem to have moved from their original position. Generally speaking, the vector lacks precision : when I quickly switch the two images, things move. For example, his hair on the svg are slightly more angular, but less shapely than on the raster. Her left armpit lacks a fold. Body extremities (fingers and toes) don't match. His right eye is wrong. There are errors in the position diagram (gaps or graduations are missing). Blinking the two pictures should help determine where are the differences, and ideally, blinking should not reveal any difference. Medunta (talk) 15:52, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Edit: Oh, well... There are other versions of the file, some of which have been improved although I can still detect some problems on them. I think an overall update wouldn't hurt. Medunta (talk) 07:50, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
For the record, I don't think this image should have been vectorized as an SVG. Unavoidably, there will be anomalies. To me the faces look wrong. It should just be a photo. Tempshill (talk) 20:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the criticism. I've now completely redrawn the image in Inkscape with more precision, correcting any skew and also paying extra attention to the faces. ›mysid (☎∆✎) 10:38, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- The ankles of both figures are incorrect. Thangalin (talk) 20:15, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
What do the binary symbols next to the planets signify? --Jasontownsend (talk) 03:57, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- From the article Pioneer plaque: "The binary numbers next to the planets show the relative distance to the sun. The unit is 1/10 of Mercury's orbit." ›mysid (☎∆✎) 17:47, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
