E-mail conversation between uploader and Peter McConnell

[edit]

>Uploader:Hello, Peter! I am an editor at Wikipedia, the free Internet encyclopedia, having considerably contributed to your entry (at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_McConnell). I noticed that after 6 years of existence the entry still hasn't got an image of yours. So, there's a question: Are you interested in having your picture (we say, http://www.petermc.com/images/Index_01.gif) at Wikipedia? If so, inform me please.

>Peter McConnell:Thanks for your inquiry. It seems my entry is always changing. Overall a good thing of course...I noticed my picture was re-posted after having been removed, and now I guess it's gone again. Feel free to post the one from my site. Also I notice someone has posted my birthplace incorrectly. I was born in Pittsburg, PA. Anyway, thanks for asking about this. It's much appreciated!

>Uploader:Peter, hi once again! I just wanted to say: If you want to allow Wikipedia to use the pic from your site, it must be licensed under CC-BY, CC-BY-SA or GFDL license. Choose one for your pic please. Preminary thanks again!

>Peter McConnell:Right, of course...I'm confined to iPhone at the moment so doing this stuff is a bit clunky. Quickest way is to post the photo on a flickr account right?

>Uploader:Peter, I know it is annoying and separates you from your deeds. Could CC-BY-SA license suit you? From the official site of license:

"You are free:
to Share — to copy, distribute and transmit the work;
to Remix — to adapt the work
Under the following conditions:

Attribution — You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work). Share Alike — If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one."

>Peter McConnell:Yes, absolutely that would work for me!
