Fair Use on Palette swap
[edit]The use of this file on Palette swap is analogues to the use of File:Super Mario Bros 1985.png on Platform game. A new image could be made, however, it would not have the same impact as a screenshot from Super Mario Bros. One of Luigi's more famous characteristics is that he was originally a palette swap of Mario (his name is a pun on the Japanese word Ruiji, a reference to his only difference in the original games being his colour), and the Mario Bros. are among the most famous video game characters in the world.Bradley.sigma (talk) 21:55, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- @Bradley.sigma: It's not a matter about what kind of "impact" can be made by using this file; it's a matter of whether or not the way this non-free file is used can be illustrated by a free equivalent. In this case, a pallet swap can be created by a "paint" program by zooming in on the pixels used for the drawing. For this reason, this file's use in Pallet swap clearly fails WP:NFCC#1 as a pallet swap can be illustrated without using copyrighted characters. Steel1943 (talk) 22:10, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
