Great map, a few comments
[edit]Good work, that map was needed...thank you. A few comments though: County capital of Nordland should be Bodø. County capital of Nord-Trøndelag - Steinkjer - should be moved north to the head of the fjord (except for a very thin fjord branch protruding north). The lake in Telemark is named Norsjø. The island in Finnmark should be Sørøya. Orcaborealis 19:50, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Although the title indicates that this is Norway, I think the country should be tagged NORWAY in the map. Also, the non-mainland territories
dependenciesshould be tagged Jan Mayen (Norway) and Svalbard (Norway). Otherwise a good map. --Eddi (Talk) 00:06, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Agree on the tagging. Btw, they're not dependencies in the English sense of the word (as far as I know). Valentinian (talk) 10:25, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- You're right, it should be something else. I just couldn't find a simple term for the "non-mainland parts of the Kingdom of Norway". Territories? --Eddi (Talk) 15:58, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Offshore territories? :) (althought it sounds a bit like the Bahamas or Cayman Islands). Valentinian (talk) 20:54, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback; I'll integrate some editions shortly. Most are largely due to strabismus I developed when compiling the map. :)
As for Svalbard and Jan Mayen: I deliberated about how to best render those two unique territories. As per the legend – 'Special territory' – I believe the use of the thicker font with initial caps and separate colour (violet) is sufficient. I'm somewhat reluctant to tag any territories NORWAY (go figure) since this is blatantly obvious (per the title), with any colourised territories on the map (i.e., non-grey) reinforcing/indicating territoriality. And, stylistically, this map resembles another I recently created for Canada. Thoughts? Thanks again! E Pluribus Anthony | talk | 12:52, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit]I have inserted this excellent map into the Geography of Norway article. However, two more comments: Trøndelag is the correct name (not Trønderlag). And Steinkjer, county capital of Nord-Trøndelag, should be placed slightly to the north (between Lake Snåsavatnet and the fjord, bordering the head of the fjord). - This still hasn't been fixed... that's a shame. It also appears that the creator has left Wikipedia. :/ Hayden120 (talk) 16:17, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Sarpsborg
[edit]Why is it missing? It is the administrative centre of Østfold. Hayden120 (talk) 10:24, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
