Adrianopole's position

Hi. I'm pretty certain Adrianopole is shown at the wrong place on this map. It should be on the Maritsa river. Rivers are not displayed on this map but in any case, Adrianopole can't lie on the same horizontal level with Durres (in the far left, on the Adriatic) Георги Антонов (talk) 09:18, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i agree that is a 100% factual statement in fact Adrianople is now the modern city of Edirne. so its location is well documented. but this river also marks the land boundary between turkey and Greece. so metropolitan Edirne is also the Greek village of Kastaneai

i reviewed the map and i have found that its clearly wrong. adrianopol lies merridically due north in the middle part of the gulf of saros. but lattitudally i think they got the right location there. but how could they have been so wrong with this? 99.51.212.6 (talk) 03:33, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
