"[I would watch out for bias in the below written articles. There has been quite a conscious effort to remove Irish out of the history of illuminated texts despite all the texts made prior to the Synod of Whitby being made by Irish monks or in Ireland its self. there is also no mention of Egypt being the earliest inventors of illuminated manuscripts writing on of course on papyrus than vellum.
