Deeply Misleading Genealogical Tree

[edit]

This tree is deeply misleading and hagiographical of the current "House of Saud" absolutist monarchy. It implies a clear line of succession without competing factions, half-brothers, different wives, competing tribes. There were many parts of the area that were not under control of any of the Saud-family. In fact, Abdul-Aziz (Ibn Saud) was one of many warring tribesmen, he (with some of his family) was exiled to Kuwait where he survived by raiding and stealing from other tribes in the Penninsula. There were many other contenders for the throne, not shone in this tree. This tree is an example of "a picture can tell 1,000 lies." It lends more legitimacy to the existing monarchy than is warranted by accurate historical analysis. Benefac (talk) 03:38, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
