Appearance
So about how enacting the duel was a defense of his honor against Hamilton Slandering him in the election via Congress which cause Burr to lose the election to Jefferson.
False Image
[edit]In 1804 - during the Regency - people where not dressed in tricornes and justaucorps. In all propability, an image with out of fashion dress, and a source that is untraceable, the original of this image, does NOT portray the Hamilton-Burr duel. - I noticed that as well. This looks much more like a depiction of an event taking place around 1750-1770s. However, since the original image seems to be from around 1902, it could be that the artist was just misinformed regarding clothes of the era. --Saddhiyama (talk) 09:03, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
The artist has also decided that they did not take their proper paces, which is unlikely, and also that the duel did not take place in the middle of summer. --Spacepotatoes (talk) 03:26, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
