This image is not clear (resolution) and the .svg format is not as popular as others. As one of only three figures in [1] , it should probably be replaced. Doug youvan (talk) 01:08, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing figure

[edit]

I'm not a biologist, which may bear on my confusion, but this figure is primarily oriented toward Posttranslational modification and contains a great deal of information about common modifications, and these (as far as I can tell) and not directly encoded in the genetic code at all. So this figure should not be called "genetic code" and should not be used to illustrate the genetic code. When I first saw this figure I thought "Oh, so now they know that the redundant codons actually encode post-translational modifications." This figure makes sense in the catalog of a company selling tests to assay posttranslational modifications, but is very confusing as an illustration of basic molecular biology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertmacl (talkcontribs) 13:01, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
