I thought this was the flag of the European Union, not the flag of Europe?? Does Europe have a flag? Europe is not a political entity. --Oddeivind (talk) 08:34, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oddeivind is correct. This is the flag of the European Union, not "Europe". It is at the top of today's front page. How does one correct this error? Sceptic (talk) 11:53, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, both of you are incorrect. This flag was designed on the behest of the Council of Europe as a symbol to represent the whole of Europe and it was and still is their symbol. The EU did indeed later adopt it as their symbol as well. But the official title of this flag remains to this day "Flag of Europe". Tvx1 (talk) 16:55, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, you are wrong. It appears you have failed to comprehend what Europe is, and failed to discern between name and description. Europe is a landmass, not a juridical entity. This file is incorrectly named, and the name should be corrected to 'Flag of European Union'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe --109.189.97.106 (talk) 04:24, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
