She was an actress who is now 80-years old and retired. Per guidelines: for . . . retired individuals whose notability rests in large part on their earlier visual appearance, a new picture may not serve the same purpose as an image taken during their career, in which case the use would be acceptable.
The image, an obviously posed publicity photo, is being used for the lead and is the only image in the article. See film still for general non-copyrighted aspects of images meant for publicity.--Wikiwatcher1 (talk) 20:19, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Are there any sources which can be used to establish that her "notability rests in large part on [her] earlier visual appearance"? A director and writer's notability doesn't generally rest on their appearance, and according to the article her award-winning acting performance was as recent as 2000, implying (in my mind at least) that her notability from acting could very well be due to talent rather than looks.
