[edit]Why is Romania in pink? Nothing in the Soviet Bloc article gives any firm indication why. —Psychonaut 17:10, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was about to ask the same thing. Is it because it protested the invasion of Czechoslavakia?68.149.233.141 18:29, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Albania and Romania weren't as tightly woven into the Eastern Bloc as the other nations were. Hoxha in Albania tried to play the USSR and China off against each other, and Ceaucescu in Romania took a far more independent line than the other Warsaw Pact states. 74.251.200.216 (talk) 21:42, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Also, Romania and Albania were, in fact, Communist, but not a part of the USSR. Ergo, they aren't part of the Soviet Bloc.
- Yes, Albania and Romania were Communist States and were not part of the USSR. In fact, the DDR, Poland and all those other countries in red were never part of the USSR either! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.142.19.50 (talk) 15:40, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
