Is this really a retinal scan taking place? I think it may actually be an iris scan, based on the distances involved (retina scans can only be obtained from very close to the eye, through the pupil). The only reason I'm nitpicking is that the photo is being used in the article on retina scanning, and may be giving a false impression.
