In the picture shown the homebrew is using a thermometer not a hydrometer. He is simply measuring the temperature, not the specific gravity.

He appears to be using both. The one with the dial might be a thermometer, the one that is floating in the middle is the hydrometer. -- Borb (talk) 11:46, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
