The Dutch (?) map makers 'Demis' have a mistake on this background map.
The Flathead River does not flow into the Missouri. The Flathead River is on the other side of the Great Divide and flows into the Clark Fork of the Columbia, the largest tributary of the Columbia River, which feeds the Pacific.
