This image is being identified as being from the 1870s, but it's a cleaned up version of another file on Wikipedia that's identified as being from the 1890s. The 1890s date is definitely correct, as the original image can be found here: https://digitalcollections.detroitpubliclibrary.org/islandora/object/islandora%3A151477
