Gobbledegook!! About my home town requires correcting. 'Beith' is an old Scots word which means 'Land of trees', a wood or forest if translated to our modern tongue. It has always been a place where smuggling was done. After having uplifted the cargo of contraband from the West coast of Scotland, it quickly had to be brought to a place where it could be traded. Namely, 'The Saracen's Head' a pub which still exists in the town to this day. It was a town full of Pirates, Buccaneers and Cut-throates where all the tobacco, liquor and spices were traded and that is how it was formed... From a Wood to a bustling village, full of all the riches of the New World which were for sale within her. John Parker, fae Gateside, outside Beith.
