The audio waveform shown in this screenshot makes me cringe to think of how it would sound. It is an extreme example of the "loudness wars" -- with dynamic-range compression that brings every peak to maximum level. The audible result is that when one instrument gets louder, others retreat, and the overall loudness remains boringly constant but very high, requiring the volume control to be turned down.
