This is a very nice painting. It shows the leeward gun ports open with the guns out under normal sailing conditions. This is often found in paintings, but according to the historians I knew as an apprentice at the South Street Seaport Museum, this would never happen -- they frequently commented on this artistic license!--John Bessa (talk) 23:25, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
