English: The Japan Meteorological Agency’s GMS-5 satellite captured this infrared imagery at 12:00 Coordinated Universal Time on October 13, 1997, featuring Typhoon Zeb at peak intensity, approaching Luzon. At the time, Zeb had 1-minute sustained winds of 180 mph (285 km/h), and the Japanese Meteorological Agency estimated Zeb's minimum central pressure at 910 millibars. Zeb was 227 kilometers from land.
