Summary

Description
English: Cartoon from the pro-imperialist Lantern newspaper attacking the liberal leader Saul Solomon. Solomon is shown defeated in his attempt to strengthen Black Civil Rights in the Cape and avert the Anglo-Zulu War. His broken horse is labelled "Negrophilist". The British Imperial Governor Bartle Frere is depicted victorious and moving successfully forward to invade Zululand.
