Summary

Description
English: Estimated size of the ankylosaur specimen ZPAL MgD I/113. ZPAL MgD I/113 are known from a mostly complete tail, sacral, presacral vertebrae and a slab of armour from its back. ZPAL MgD I/113 have been referred to Tarchia, thought this is questionable, as its morphology differ from other specimens attributed to the genus.[1]

Due to its incompleteness, the exact size of ZPAL MgD I/113 are difficult to determine: a restoration from 2014 lead to a body length of roughly 9 meters,[2] while a 2017 study gave an estimation of 5.8-6.7 meters. [3] My size comparison of ZPAL MgD I/113 are based on the size of the “handle” part of its tail (depicted above the human figure), consisting of fused vertebrae (about 190 cm., based on fig. 7 from Arbour & Evans (2017),[4] while the tail as a whole measures 3.101 meters).[1] The rest of the body is a generalised guess, based on other ankylosaurids.
