Wilhelm Tell, the Swiss national hero with his crossbow and accompanied by his son. This medal by Richard Kissling has the same design as his bronze statue (Telldenkmal) that was inaugurated two years later in 1895 at Altdorf, Canton Uri, Switzerland. The William Tell Monument in Altdorf, the result of a 1892 national competition is probably Kissling's best-known work./The arms of Canton Zürich, around: "KANTONALSCHÜTZENFEST IN ZÜRICH * 1893 *".
