DescriptionX-33 Liquid Hydrogen Multi-Lobed Tank Failure.png
English: X-33 Liquid Hydrogen Multi-Lobed Tank Failure. One of the few images available of the full size tank, with a human in the picture providing a sense of scale.
English: Final Report of the X-33 Liquid Hydrogen Tank Test Investigation Team. George C. Marshall Space Flight Center. The recently discovered microcracking problem in this material (IM7/977-2 tow preg laminates) at strain levels from 1,200 to 2,000 µin./ in. while at -423 °F and under static load indicates this material may not have been suitable for use in the design/development and manufacture of the X-33 LH2 tank.
The NASA website hosts a large number of images from the Soviet/Russian space agency, and other non-American space agencies. These are not necessarily in the public domain.
The SOHO (ESA & NASA) joint project implies that all materials created by its probe are copyrighted and require permission for commercial non-educational use. [2]
