English: Kumbilappam is a snack made with jackfruit in Kerala. It is made by wrapping the mixture inside Bay Leaves(Cinnamomum tamala) and steaming it. The word "Kumbil" in the name denotes the shape of the wrapping in malayalam.
മലയാളം: കുമ്പിളപ്പം എന്നത് ചക്കകൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയ കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരു മധുരപലഹാരമാണ്. ഇടനയിലയിൽ ചേരുവകൾ പൊതിഞ്ഞു ആവിയിൽ വേവിച്ചാണ് ഇവ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. കുമ്പിളിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിനാലാണ് കുമ്പിളപ്പം എന്ന പേരുവന്നത്.
