Article | |
Portion used |
Entire photograph other than insignificant cropping at the margins; I believe further cropping would lose the geographical context, in particular the station's location in an entirely wooded area and the curving siding branching to the former stable. |
Low resolution? |
1,231 × 926 px. I believe that further reduction would result in the loss of significant detail of the track and building design. |
Purpose of use |
To illustrate the appearance of Wotton railway station as an operational railway station. |
Replaceable? |
The majority of fittings and fixtures were removed in late 1935, the track itself was removed in 1936, and the platform was sold at auction and the station buildings demolished shortly afterwards; it is thus impossible to recreate the photograph today. To the best of my knowledge no photographs of the station from this period exist in the public domain. |
