Description
English: Painting by Henry Woods (1846-1921) of three women contemplating classical art. It evokes the atmosphere of an ancient Roman city. Woods based this painting on women that he saw during his many years of living in Italy, and on artifacts excavated from Pompeii. (Private collection)
Deutsch: Gemälde von Henry Woods (1846-1921), das drei Frauen bei der Betrachtung klassischer Kunst zeigt. Es evoziert die Atmosphäre einer antiken römischen Stadt.
