Summary

Description
English: Stoppers made from graphite, with screw thread and rubber seal to suit reusable Woodroofe's lemonade bottles, 26 imp. fl. oz. the only size sold. Ceased production c. 1960, when production moved to crown seal bottles in several sizes. The thumbwheel style was earlier and unusual; the "gripper" style was more common in the 1940s through 1960s. The stoppers, like the bottles, were reusable and no refund would be paid on the bottle if the stopper were missing. When the bottles were washed - a critical and time-consuming process, the old rubber seals were discarded and replaced with new ones, to ensure a perfect seal.
