Purpose of use |
To illustrate Yevaud specifically, and the dragons of Earthsea generally. Le Guin's Earthsea series is an important and well-known example of literary work about dragons: notable in dragon literature in general, and especially significant to its period (the article is arranged chronologically). As Yevaud is the first dragon presented in the series, he is of particular interest. |
Replaceable? |
There are no uncopyrighted images of Yevaud, and unlike this cover, most covers of A Wizard of Earthsea do not depict Yevaud. (One edition depicts him on the back cover, an image which does not seem to be available.) |
