English: Signature of William Hyde Rice. William Hyde Rice (1846–1924) was a sugar plantation owner and politician during the Kingdom of Hawaii and Republic of Hawaii. He served in the legislature 1870–1890, served as royal governor of Kauai, and collected and published legends of Hawaiian mythology.
