Summary

Description William Clarke Park, Hartington Road, Elm Grove, Brighton, City of Brighton and Hove, England. A long, narrow linear park which occupies the cutting of the former Kemp Town Branch Line between the former Hartington Road halt and the northern entrance to the tunnel under Elm Grove. The land is now at a much higher level than the railway line was: the cutting was filled in after the line closed in the 1970s. William Clarke was a former Mayor of Brighton who campaigned for this open space to be created.
