Summary

Description Surveyor taking measurements at corner of William and Wellington Streets, Perth, Western Australia. Wellington Building (1910) and Mitchell's Buildings (1912) are shown. The demolition of adjoining buildings revealed an old advertisement painted on the northern wall of Mitchell's Buildings (visible here) that read "Joe Lacerda for fishing tackle". According to the Heritage Council [1], Joseph Lacerda operated a tobacconist and fishing tackle store on this location from at least 1910 until well into the 1930s. The adverstisement shown here remained visible from June 2004 until February 2005, when the wall was itself demolished.
