Nederlands: De Tijd - Kunstenaar onbekend (mogelijk Ludovicus Willemsens, Antwerpen 1630-1702
tweede helft 17de eeuw wit marmer vleugelspreiding 177 cm De Tijd wordt in de schone kunsten vaak voorgesteld als de Griekse god Chronos, in de gedaante van een oude wijze man met een lange baard. Zijn attributen zijn een zandloper en een zonnewijzer. Daarnaast symboliseert Chronos ook vaak (de voorspelling van) de dood. Deze barokke voorstelling van de Tijd in wit marmer werd aan het Stadsmuseum geschonken door Elvire Boelens, de weduwe van Gustave Maes, de Lokerse mecenas die het museum mee oprichtte in 1896. Heel waarschijnlijk is dit beeld afkomstig uit de Antwerpse Sint-Jacobskerk, waar onder andere Pieter Paul Rubens ligt begraven. Franse soldaten plunderden de kerk in 1797 en verkochten de inboedel openbaar.
