Description
Oil on canvas. 395x298 mm. Painting of Blackfriar's Bridge, London, 1923, seen from the South Bank of the Thames. Painted at the same time as a similar work by w:William Gillies while the two artists were on their way to Paris. The view is almost identical to that of St Paul’s from the Surrey Side by w:Charles François Daubigny (dated 1871-3) in the w:National Gallery, London. This painting was generously gifted by the late David G.D. Barr.
