Description
English: Water drip filter (dripstone) on display at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia. According to the label: "In the 1800s, stone water filters like this were used to clean water from street pumps or rivers. Muddy water was poured into the porous stone container...clean water was collected as it dripped from the bottom. This filter was used on Norfolk Island."
