Summary

Description
English: Although the two bonds are the equivalent in the original symmetric water molecule, the bond-dissociation energy of the oxygen–hydrogen bond in the resulting hydroxyl radical is different from that in the original water molecule. These two bond-dissociation energies are then averaged to find the O-H bond energy in a full molecule of water.
