Summary

Description The U.S. Navy tank landing ship USS Washtenaw County (LST-1166) moored in Subic Bay, Philippines, 4 October 1969. Washtenaw County was converted into a "Special Minesweeper Ship" and redesignated USS Washtenaw County (MSS-2) on 9 February 1973. After serving only a few months in that role, she was decommissioned and struck from the Naval Register on 30 August 1973.
