English: Building and empty lots in Washington Avenue Historic District on the NRHP since September 7, 1984. The historic district consisted of 8 buildings, roughly bounded by Carpenter, Washington, 10th, and Broad Streets, in the Hawthorne neighborhood of south Philadelphia. The building in the background is 1201 Washington, formerly the John Wyeth Chemical Company. In front of the building is the 1301 Washington lot - which used to have a building in the district. Ditto for the foreground right in front of the photographer, which is the 1101 S. Broad lot.
