Chilhowee Inn in Walland, Tennessee, located in the Southeastern United States. During the U.S. Civil War, the residents of Miller Cove erected an American flag and pledged allegiance to the Union. When a Confederate force passed through later in the war, a local warned them not to harm the flag for fear agitating the mountaineers. The Confederates saluted the flag and marched onward to Maryville.
The Chilhowee Inn was built on the grounds by the Schlosser Leather Company in 1902.
