DescriptionWaiting for Grandfather by Carroll Jones III.jpg
English: "I was in my last year of college in 1967 in West Hartford, Connecticut, when word came one day that my grandfather had died. I had visited him only a week before at the hospital in Keene, New Hampshire where he was recovering from a stroke. We talked of nothing in particular, but it was all meaningful, warm, and kind hearted. Hitching back to school, I couldn't help but wonder how his cat was faring, and wished I had mentioned Nicky, in what turned out to be our last conversation...The image of my grandfather in his wicker chair with his cat close by for all those summers of my youth would now haunt me for ages. Years later I was told that Nicky hadn't given up hope until his own passing." C.Jones III
