Description
Deutsch: Das 1921 von Hugo Lederer aus Kalkstein (Schillkalk) erstellte Denkmal ist dem 1813 gegründeten und 1919 aufgelösten Oldenburgischen Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 91 gewidmet. Künstlerisches Vorbild ist der "Löwe von Chäronea". Inschrift rechte Seite: "Den Einundneunzigern / zum Gedächtnis." Links: "Heilige Flamme glüh / glüh und erlösche nie / fürs Vaterland". Das Denkmal befand sich von 1921 bis 1960 auf dem Schloßplatz vor der Schloßwache und wurde 1960 an seinen heutigen Standort auf dem Theodor-Tantzen-Platz versetzt, Blickrichtung auf das ehemalige Oldenburgische Staatsministerium. English: Monument of the Oldenburg regiment of infantery no. 91. Construction by Hugo Lederer 1921. The regiment was founded in 1813 and dissolved in 1919 as a result of the First World War. Position from 1921 until 1960 Oldenburg (Oldb), Schloßplatz, than until now Theodor-Tantzen-Platz.
