Summary

Description
English: Parabolic antenna dish of the World War 2 German Würzburg-Riese (Giant Würzburg) radar, at Gatow. It was an antiaircraft gun-laying radar produced toward the end of the war. It used circuitry similar to the Würzburg D model but had a larger 7.4 meter antenna and a more powerful transmitter with a range of up to 70 kilometers (43 mi). Azimuth accuracy was 0.2 degrees and elevation 0.1 degree. About 1000 units were produced during the war. After the war, astronomers in the Netherlands and other countries used the surplus dishes for radio telescopes.
