Description
English: Gërdec near Vora, Albania. Members of the U.S. European Command Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team (HAST) examine damage caused by a March 15 series of explosions at a weapons demilitarization facility here on April 8. The HAST, including specialists in environmental science, engineering, explosive ordnance disposal, civil affairs and mortuary affairs, assisted Albanian citizens and military and government officials in the aftermath of a disaster that killed 22 people and destroyed more than 400 homes.
