English: The Volta Laboratory is a former carriage house located at 3414 Volta Place NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It was built in 1854 and purchased by Alexander Graham Bell in 1881 for his father, Alexander Melville Bell, who lived in the main house. From 1885 to 1922 it was used as a laboratory by the younger Bell. The building is listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites and is a contributing property to the Georgetown Historic District.
