English: The original image was released as freeware on the OpenVMS Freeware CD 4.0 (see [1] for the original image, and [2] for information about OpenVMS freeware). As freeware, it is available for any use.
The original image incorporated the logo of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), which created the OpenVMS operating system and owned it at the time the image was created. This version of the image substitutes the HP logo, as HP is the current owner and developer of OpenVMS. (DEC was purchased by Compaq, which was purchased by HP.)
This work has been released into the public domain by its author, Digital Equipment Corporation. This applies worldwide. In some countries this may not be legally possible; if so: Digital Equipment Corporation grants anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law.
